According to Sgt. Ron Price, the pair were in a PT Cruiser Sunday night shortly before midnight and as they drove down Deeptree Street, threw Corona beer bottles at a residence in the 27000 block. The bottles hit the windshield, destroying the window.
An unknown person that was outside fired several shots at the fleeing vehicle, hitting the car in the driveway.
About an hour later, deputies spotted the PT Cruiser at North Oaks Park, where significant tagging had just taken place. Juan Ramon Cabrera, 22, and a 17-year old boy were taken into custody, on suspicion of felony vandalism, as Corona bottles found in their vehicle matched the lot numbers of the bottles that had been thrown on Deeptree Street.
Both are suspected gang members and are considered to be involved in the tagging incident as well, but no paint cans were found in the car. The juvenile was released to his parents and Cabrera is being held at the Santa Clarita station in lieu of $20,000 bail.
