Teachers Taking To The Streets Today

Demonstrations to protest potential layoffs.

[view:node_ad=5]Today, dubbed "Pink Friday," will see local teachers take to
the streets to protest potential "pink slips" varying school districts have
issued.

As budget constraints tighten in the world of education,
schools are required to notify all potential layoffs by today.

A pink slip doesn't automatically mean that a teacher will
be let go, however. The total number of pink slips only represents a worse case
scenario. While it is likely that some teachers will be eventually laid off,
that number is expected to only be a fraction of those noticed.

Of course the uncertainty of the situation has the teachers
out in force today, making their voices heard.
