“Teen Scene Unplugged is designed to help parents and teens begin conversations on sensitive topics,” said Mayor Marsha McLean. “This year’s guest speaker, Stacy Kaiser, will provide attendees with the tools needed to survive stressful situations many parents and teens encounter.”

Kaiser will provide strategies and tips on facing the realities and challenges of parenting teens head on. She will discuss ten things every parent needs to know to raise a successful adult and address the questions that are vital to maintaining a healthy and open relationship between parents and their teens.

Formed in January 2000 by the Santa Clarita City Council, the Blue Ribbon Task Force was designed to provide parents and teens with tools needed to improve relationships and open discussions about serious, life changing issues teens face every day. Today the annual event Teen Scene Unplugged draws more than 500 community members and continues to increase in popularity.

The event will start with a resource fair at 6 p.m. and the presentation will begin at 7 p.m. Parents with teens and pre-teens are encouraged to attend.  Golden Valley High School is located at 27501 Robert C. Lee Parkway.
