The Food Network To Have Salt Creek Grille Pastry Chef Compete

The Food Network is getting a little taste of the Santa Clarita Valley Sunday night when a Salt Creek Grille pastry chef competes on “Guy’s Grocery Game.”

Kristina White has worked as a pastry chef at Salt Creek for the past year and has done catering for three. She applied to be on the show after her sister saw an advertisement online.

“I never thought that I would be on TV, but I didn’t even notice the cameras because I was so intune to what I was doing,” she said. “I had no idea what I was getting myself into and it was the most exciting experience of my life.”The Food Network To Have Salt Creek Grille Pasty Chef Compete

New to The Food Network, “Guy’s Grocery Game” is hosted by chef and restaurant owner Guy Fieri. In each episode Guy presents a challenge to four chefs who then quickly find all the ingredients and complete a meal in 30 minutes for three celebrity judges.

“It’s similar to the show ‘Chopped,’ but instead we’re given challenges dealing with everyday grocery shopping,” White said. “We go to our carts, find whatever it is in the grocery store, he gives us the rules.”

White said her involvement in so many types of cooking helped prepare her for the show.

“I can do the savory and sweet and not just focus on one, I had a good advantage because I had good experience in both,” she said.
