Whether you are planning a birthday party, a fundraiser, or even just a fun day of pizza and bowling, Santa Clarita Lanes has always been the ideal family entertainment center. They are currently home to Bowler’s Pit Stop Pro Shop, Vincenzo’s Pizza & Lounge, King Pin Amusement, Dave Cutchell Electric, and this summer, they are happy to welcome the newest member of their family, the Santa Clarita Lanes Watch and Wager Facility.
Santa Clarita Lanes owner, Tom Cristi, says, “The new facility will be like going to the clubhouse at the racetrack. It will be fully equipped with wagering windows, beautiful décor, and food and beverage services.” Here, families can enjoy the delicious Vincenzo’s menu, since it will replace the arcade in the restaurant, while trying their luck at off-track betting – placing bets on the horse races outside the track. Instead of making the long drive all the way to the Ventura Fair or Antelope Valley Fair, you will be able to enjoy the horse races right here in your hometown of Santa Clarita. Better yet, admission is free, which is something you can’t find at the fair.
Still a bit skeptical? Rest assured, the facility will be fully operated by the California Horse Racing Board and will be used strictly for horse racing. Cristi says that after he received approval from the Santa Clarita City Council, he made sure to notify all regular Santa Clarita Lanes bowlers of the changes. There will be security in the facility at all times and players have to abide by state regulations.
A day at the horse races has always been a great family pastime and Santa Clarita Lanes simply wishes to bring the fun closer to home. Cristi assures Santa Clarita residents, “Nothing at Santa Clarita Lanes will change. Our priority is and will always be family entertainment.”
Renovation for the Santa Clarita Lanes Watch and Wager Facility began Wednesday, May 16, and the tentative opening is the weekend of July 6, 2012. The Watch and Wager Facility will be open during the day Thursdays through Sundays, in the evening Fridays through Sundays, and for the races on Monday holidays.
