A 13-year old boy was followed as he walked in his Valencia neighborhood Tuesday afternoon, but the actions of alert neighbors probably saved the day.

According to Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Lt. Tom Bryski, the boy was walking near Avenida Navarre and Carrizo Drive when he noticed a car following him. The driver was described as a Hispanic male in his 50s, driving a 1980s silver Honda.

At one point, while following the boy, the car stopped and the driver’s door opened. That’s when another car pulled up behind the Honda, which the man quickly drove away.

Deputies were called and responded to the area, which they searched for the car but it was not located.

They are now conducting follow-up investigation based on additional information received from another witness.
