Thousands Expected To Watch Cops And Firemen Duke It Out

Boxing finals bring anticipated drama to police and fire games.

From 6:30 to 11:00 tonight, the city of Santa Clarita expects thousands to show up to watch the final round of boxing matches for the Western States Police and Fire Games (WSPFG).

The final rounds will be held at Santa Clarita Studios, located at 25135 Anza Drive.

The WSPFG has been hosting events all week long in Santa Clarita and surrounding areas, with 7,000 police and fire department members from all over the western United States participating in over 50 events.

While all events were open to the public, tonight’s boxing match should see some of the highest attendance numbers.

By the time the games conclude Sunday, city officials estimate it will have had an economic impact on our area in the neighborhood of $5-8 million.
