Traffic stops help curb drunk driving problems.
Three people were arrested at a DUI sobriety checkpoint Friday night on Valencia Boulevard just east of Creekside Drive. The checkpoint was conducted from 7 p.m. Friday to 3 a.m. Saturday.
A total of 1,014 vehicles passed through and 916 were screened. Eight vehicles were pulled off the line and the drivers received further testing.
Three drivers were arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence and one was additionally suspected of the possession of narcotics.
They were booked at the Santa Clarita Valley station. In addition, eight drivers were cited for traffic violations.
