Three Arrested In Bridgeport Robbery

Guns used in robbery outside apartment complex.

Arrests have been made in the robbery of four area teenagers which occurred on Friday, October 17, 2008, at 10:15 p.m.

Suspect Matthew Booth, 18, of Valencia was arrested Friday night. Megan Draper, 19, of Saugus, and Chad Garza, 19, also of Saugus were arrested today at their respective homes.  The detectives were able to piece together the circumstances of the crime from witness and victim interviews.

On Friday night, the victims drove to the apartments at Bridgeport Lane and McBean Parkway, Valencia, where they were confronted by the three suspects.  Booth and Garza were holding guns and Draper held a crow bar.  They demanded that the victims give up their wallets.  Two wallets, personal identification belonging to the victims, and $500 were taken in the robbery.

Booth was arrested Friday night after he was seen leaving a party in the 28200 block of Oak Springs Canyon Road.  He was arraigned Tuesday on two counts of robbery and is in custody of the Los Angeles County Jail. 

Draper, who has been arrested twice before in the last two months, is being held on suspicion of robbery at Santa Clarita Valley Station in lieu of $50,000 bail; Garza, who also has a previous arrest, is being held on suspicion of robbery and assault with a firearm and is being held at Santa Clarita Valley Station in lieu of $100,000 bail.
