Sheriff’s deputies took three people into custody Friday morning after a resident called when he saw a man sitting in a car and two other men go into an unoccupied house just before noon.
Deputies quickly arrived at the address in the 27000 block of Beautyberry Place, near Wren Street in the Fair Oaks Ranch. The area has been the focus of detectives and crime prevention patrols due to a large number of kick-in burglaries.
A containment that included Fair Oaks Ranch Community School was set up, although the school was never locked down.
Deputies went into the first house and found it had been ransacked, but no suspects were found. When movement was observed in another house on Wren Street, the deputies went to that location and arrested the trio.
“We hope that the Neighborhood Watch meetings we’ve been holding up there have helped raise awareness and people are calling,” said Sgt. Darren Harris.
Harris said that two suspects were arrested in the second house and one suspect was arrested in a car. Of the three arrested, two were juveniles and one was an adult.
