Three drivers were arrested for driving under the influence at a checkpoint conducted by the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s station traffic unit.
The checkpoint was on Newhall Ranch Road at Grandview Drive and cars were screened from 6 p.m. Thursday to 2 a.m. Friday morning.
A total of 802 cars went through the checkpoint and five drivers were checked for driving under the influence. Of those five, three were arrested.

Seventeen citations were issued to drivers for either being unlicensed or having suspended licenses. Eleven vehicles were towed; seven of those vehicles were impounded with 30-day holds.
