If it’s summer, it’s time for some spirited bidding, and the Santa Clarita Valley Boys and Girls Club is ready to “thrill” you with tempting auction items at its 40th annual auction on Saturday.
Often called the valley’s social event of the year, this year’s auction promises to be “Totally Awesome” thanks to its theme, “Thriller – A Flashback to the’80s.”

The evening party will include cocktails, dinner, an ’80s dance performance, plus the live and silent auction of more than 350 items, all benefiting programs and operating expenses for the Club, which serves more than 3,000 young people in our community.
The auction will also be staged in a new indoor location – 27420 Avenue Scott in the Valencia Industrial Park – across the street from the old Daily News building, so guests should feel free to wear their favorite 80’s disco outfits with no fear of having to cover up for the weather.
Top auction items include a Princess Cruise to Hawaii; a trip to Australia to view the filming of “The Great Gatsby,” vacations to Lake Tahoe, Maui, Kauai and Orlando; diamond jewelry; pop concert tickets, and box seats at Dodger and Lakers games.
Admission is $25 per couple. Doors open at 5 pm, followed by dinner at 6 pm, entertainment at 6:30 pm, then the live auction.
Information on tickets, tables and free ’80s dance classes are available at the SCV Boys & Girls Club, (661) 254-3063, and at their website: www.scvbgc.org.
