Tickets for the 19th annual Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival presented by Lockheed Federal Credit Union will go on sale Tuesday, January 3, 2012.
The popular event draws thousands of Western fans and many of the events sell out quickly. From the city, here’s an exclusive preview of the Festival line up which will take place April 19 – 22 at Melody Ranch Motion Picture Studio and other venues in the Santa Clarita Valley:
Thursday April 19
The Santa Clarita Valley Film Tour kicks off the weekend’s festivities with visits to some of the area’s most notable film locations. Cowboy Couture returns to the Festival at the Repertory East Playhouse showcasing high Western fashion and offering attendees a chance to pick up a great new outfit for the weekend. Also taking place on Thursday is the City of Santa Clarita’s monthly Senses street party on Main Street in Old Town Newhall, featuring live music, dancing, food trucks and Western vendors from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. Admission is free!
Friday, April 20
Start your day with lunch and a Don Edwards show at beautiful Rancho Camulos, and then hear fascinating stories about Glenn Ford from his son, Peter Ford at the Repertory East Playhouse. Friday night, Dave Stamey will perform at Hart Mansion at William Hart Park and Melody Ranch Movie Night features dinner and a showing of 3:10 to Yuma with Glenn Ford on Main Street at the Ranch.
Saturday, April 21 and Sunday, April 22
Enjoy the award winning Cowboy Festival at Melody Ranch Motion Picture Studio where you’ll find great music and poetry, Western art, clothing, Cowboy gear and Chuckwagon cooking.
On Saturday night, R. W. Hampton will make a solo appearance at Hart Mansion and Cowboy Cabaret will return to the Repertory East Playhouse to thrill music lovers with Western jazz and swing featuring Cow Bop and The Quebe Sisters Band.
Two new events have also been added for the weekend: A Tribute to Patsy Cline with dinner at Heritage Junction and an Old Town Hoedown in Newhall, featuring dinner and dancing with Cody Bryant of the Riders of the Purple Sage.
