Top Five Things To Do This Weekend, November 7, 2008

This Weekend in Santa Clarita;

-Step out in style and head to the “SCAA Classic Art Show,” a gala event highlighting over 120 pieces of original art. Beverages, hors d’oeuvres, and music will all be a part of this elegant event held at Hart Hall Sunday, November 9.

-It’s flu season again, and College of the Canyons is making it easy for you and your family to get inoculated. Drive over and drive-thru the COC parking lot for free flu shots! A valid precaution for the winter months, the flu shot is recommended for children six months and older, pregnant women, childcare providers, first responders, seniors, and anyone with a chronic illness.

-Get some of that Holiday shopping done early at the “SCVi Holiday Boutique,”  Saturday November 8 at SCVi’s location in Valencia. Items for sale include products from Arbonne, Pampered Chef, Discovery Toys, Juice Plus, and Piggies & Paws Art, as well as a variety of student created gift items.

-The Local Group Astronomy Club of the Santa Clarita Valley invites you to join them this Saturday, November 8 at Vasquez Rocks for a “Public Star Party.” Dozens of telescopes will be set up to observe the heavenly bodies, and amateur astronomers will answer all questions relating to the stars.

-Time to celebrate the birthday of an American legend! All Veterans are invited to the “Marine Corp Birthday Party” Monday, November 10 at the American Legion in Newhall.

And be sure to listen to the “Phil Katz Get The Heck Out Of The House And Do Something Already Calendar Of Events” for more great ways on how to spend your weekends here in Santa Clarita.
