Top Things To Do This Weekend, February 27, 2009

This Weekend in Santa Clarita, brought to you by our friends at Facey Medical Group;

–Work those muscles and enjoy the view, at the “Santa Clarita Century Ride & Family Fun Event,” a bike ride highlighting the Santa Clarita Valley Saturday. This non-race bike ride will have a Half-Century route beginning at 8 a.m. and consisting of 52 miles, as well as a Century route that takes off at 7 a.m. and will lead riders on a 100 mile journey. Riders will be provided with food, water, and energy drinks along the routes that will begin at the Metrolink station on Soledad Canyon Road at Commuter Way. Funds raised will go towards the Santa Clarita Child and Family Center.

–Prepare for “One Singular Sensation!” The Santa Clarita Regional Theatre presents “A Chorus Line,” opening Saturday night at the COC Performing Arts Center. This Broadway favorite will run Friday and Saturday evenings, as well as Sunday afternoons for three weekends.

–Attention all women! Take control of your finances this Saturday, as Zonta Club of Santa Clarita presents a “Women’s Workshop-Essential money skills,” the second in a series of free workshops to help women take control over their own lives. A panel of financial advisors will be on hand to cover topics such as creating a budget, FICO score and credit repair, credit protection in case of divorce, and much more.

–Take a trip to our neighbors in the north, and enjoy “Love Letters,” a play at the Acton Community Club starring Tippi Hedren and Bill Newyear. This play in two acts by A.R. Gurney will included a no-host bar, a gourmet dessert bar and coffee. Tickets are $20 per person and will be sold at the door, or can be picked up at Perkin’ Up Coffeehouse in Santiago Square in Acton.
