Personal fireworks are illegal in LA County, so the fire department encourages citizens to attend public events.


“Violaters can be held financially responsible for damages as well as having to pay a fine or go to jail,” explains Stephanie English, Community Services Representative of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Enjoy your 4th of July with these top things to do:

4th of July Parade
See the talent and creativity of Santa Clarita residents at the Santa Clarita 4th of July Parade, themed, “Fun in the SCV.” Starting at 9 a.m., horses, floats, fire trucks, cars, and military personnel will make their way down Main Street, Lyons Ave, and Orchard Village.

4th of July Fireworks
Grab your radio and bring the whole family to the Valencia Town Center for a spectacular fireworks show. Tune in to KHTS AM 1220 and listen to music that coincides with the production to make the night a magical event. The show starts at 9:15 p.m.

Bridgeport Marketplace 4th of July Picnic
Don’t wait until the evening to have some fun on the 4th! Spend the day at an old fashion carnival at the Bridgeport Marketplace and enjoy a petting zoo, pony rides, water games, live music, lots of food, and more. Don’t miss your chance to dunk KHTS Morning Show Host, Brandon Gibson in the dunk tank. Festivities start at 11 a.m.

LEXUS of Valencia Jazz & Blues Concert
Relax and enjoy great jazz music outside the Valencia Hyatt on Friday, July 3, from 7:00 – 9:30 p.m.  This event includes food, beverages, and various family-friendly activities.  Admission is free.
