Head to the parking lot at College of the Canyons from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday for the “City of Santa Clarita Emergency Expo.” With demonstrations and displays from Fire, Sheriff, CHP, Public Health, CERT, and other emergency services, there is no excuse to be caught off-guard in the event of an emergency or natural disaster! Emergency supplies will be available for purchasing, and be sure to look for the KHTS Fire truck while you’re strolling about! And those with any disability or special need can attend the Expo an hour before the event opens to the public, starting at 9 a.m. The Special Needs Access Hour provides a personalized opportunity to meet and interact with the first responders.

–Wondering where an artist goes for inspiration? Join the Santa Clarita Artists’ Association from 2-3 p.m. Sunday for the second installment of their Library Lecture Series, “SCAA 60 Minutes with an Artist.” This lecture will feature local artist Peggy Patti who will discuss what an artist does for inspiration. Held at the Community Room in the Valencia Library, this lecture is open to anyone looking for artistic enlightenment.
