Castaic motorists will enjoy a prettier drive along Hasley Canyon Road and safety will be enhanced along Sierra Highway in Acton, thanks to two projects approved by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors Tuesday and announced by Supervisor Michael Antonovich.
A beautification project for the I-5/Hasley Canyon Road interchange will include landscape improvements, irrigation and new fences. It will be financed, at an estimated cost of $500,000, by the Newhall Land and Farming Company.
The supervisors also gave their blessing to a construction project to widen lanes and construct a center median to separate oncoming traffic on Sierra Highway between State Route 14 and Pearblossom Highway in the community of Acton.
With an estimated cost of over $4 million, the project is scheduled to begin early in 2011 and will be completed in approximately 10 months.
