The offramp of the northbound I-5 freeway at Valencia Boulevard has been shut down due to a single-vehicle accident with major injures.
According to California Highway Patrol Officer John Lutz, shortly after 10 a.m., a Volvo SUV hit the center divider and was propelled to the right side of the freeway, where it went over the side of the road. The driver, who suffered major injuries, was trapped and had to be extricated from the vehicle.

Officials shut down the Valencia Boulevard offramp and it will remain closed until cleanup is completed. The driver was taken to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital for treatment.
