TRAFFIC UPDATE: All Lanes On Soledad Reopened After Accident

Car hits same utility pole that forced closure a month ago.

 UPDATE: 12:45 pm, Saturday.

[view:node_ad=5]Another traffic nightmare for Santa Clarita. A solo vehicle accident prompted the  closure of westbound lanes at Valley Center Drive (Cross Valley Connector).

12:45 P.M. UPDATE!
All lanes have been reopened on westbound Soledad!

On Friday, December 7th, 2007  A motorist struck a traffic signal along westbound Soledad Canyon Road knocking it down into the roadway.  The incident occurred adjacent to the Golden Valley Bridge (near Ruether Avenue/Home Depot), at Valley Center Drive.

The accident forced the full closure of Soledad Canyon Road on Friday and Saturday morning. All  westbound and eastbound lanes are now  open at Valley Center Drive.

The pole is a transformer pole, and it has been struck before. Almost exactly one month ago, a small commercial truck collided with the pole,  and Soledad was closed for nearly 24 hours.

The driver of the vehicle suffered minor injuries, and was examined by medical personnel.
