Acton Crash Orphan’s Grandparents Are With The Infant At USC Hospital

The grandparents of the orphaned baby whose parents were killed in an Acton single-vehicle crash on Tuesday have been notified, Grandparents Of Action Crash Orphan At USC Hospitalofficials said Thursday.

“The grandparents are now with the baby at the hospital,” said California Highway Patrol Officer Jeremy Picker of the Antelope Valley station. “As far as the cause of the collision, it’s still unknown.” 

“A 2014 Ford Focus traveling northbound on Highway 14, north of Santiago Road, left the road and struck a guardrail off the left side of the road and then struck a large metal pole next to the rail,” according to the CHP crash report.

Ivan Ramirez, 31, and Felicia Martinez, 31, the parents of the unidentified infant we both killed in the crash.

Grandparents Of Action Crash Orphan At USC HospitalThe infant is under the age of 1, according to the report.

Ramirez was transported to the Palmdale Regional Medical Center, where he died from his injuries, according to the report.

Martinez was pronounced dead at the scene.

“They said the infant sustained major injuries, and she did,” said an official from the LAC+USC Medical Center.

The official could not confirm what the infant’s injuries were or if the infant was in a stable condition.
