The pedestrian who was hit by a car near Valencia Boulevard and The Old Road in Valencia on Tuesday evening, has been identified as 18-year-old Albert Castro, of Castaic, Los Angeles County Department of Coroner and California Highway Patrol officials confirmed on Wednesday.

Castro was pronounced dead at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital at 11 p.m. on Tuesday, said Coroner’s Office Spokesman Ed Winter.
As of Wednesday morning, the cause of death had not yet been determined.
Castro had been riding his skateboard eastbound across The Old Road at 5:25 p.m. on Tuesday, when he was struck by a 2002 Honda travelling northbound on The Old Road, driven by Ranu Junprunh, 54, of Saugus, according to a CHP report.
Castro was thrown into the roadway and sustained major injuries. He was treated on scene and later transported to Henry Mayo.
No arrests have been made in connection with this incident, and the investigation is ongoing.
