  1. I encountered this accident twice, since I live in the elbow of Seco and Bouquet. From where does
the coroner’s officer come? It looked like the body was covered and still in the street at 5:30, and
had been there at 3:40, also. It’s nice that we have relatively few murders and deadly accidents, but
to wait for the coroner from LA is terribly unfortunate, if that’s the case. It would be terrible for the
victim’s family, and upsetting to all.

    • Santa Clarita is big enough to have their own medical examiner and not rely on LA. To have a child or anyone for that matter laying on the street for 4 hours is unconscionable.

  2. He was 14. He was a student last year at a junior high school.

  3. I know this young boy… He goes to Rio Norte and he now goes to VHS… 🙁 he’s not 20.. He’s 14.

    • See this is why khts and scvtv need some serious reporters training. They report on a story giving estimated facts and people get upset. Wyatt SAVAIKIE was a 14 year old boy who attended Rio Norte. You so busy reporting on his age. Why is there no mention about how the driver ran the red light??? Why is there no mention if the Boy was hit while crossing in a marked crosswalk?? He took a hell of a hit if he was in the cross walk. Last night at 1 am people were still bringing flowrts and lighting candles. Do you think this slowed drivers down on Bouque?nope they flew threw that intetsection like crazy. I think people out here need to slow down and take a look around them. It’s summer kids are out this was supposed to be a family town. This story is just anothrr example of Bad reporting if you ask me.

  4. Praying for his loved ones. This is so tragic. PLEASE DRIVE CAREFULLY and RIP Wyatt.

  5. This is a tragedy. I pray for comfort and peace for the family, friends, and community surrounding the victim as well as the driver too.

To answer the question from above, I am under the impression that the County Coroner van comes from their office in East LA. I’m not sure if they have field facilities. The body may have been covered for so long so police could gather as many facts as possible for their investigation. They never like to touch any evidence until they’ve completely documented the scene. Still though, this is a very tragic event.

  6. That is so so I pray for his family and friends SO YOUNG WOOOOOW!

  7. I have just been informed of this accident so late at night. I can’t believe something so tragic has happend. We were friends in the Santa Clarita Vida and would still communicate through Snapchat. I have lost a friend but my condolences reach out the the Savakie family in hopes they find closure in this loss.

  8. So sad to hear of this horrible accident. My husband had told me about it before I got to the area, so was able to go around it. People drive so fast at this intersection, I am surprised there hasn’t been more terrible accidents. SLOW DOWN, PEOPLE!!!! Bouquet Canyon is not a race track. Watch out for pedestrians and other drivers. Keep your eyes on the road and off your damn cell phones! It’s such a horrible tragedy for a young boy to be taken from this world. But, he is in Heaven watching over his family. RIP, Wyatt. Condolences to his family and friends.
