The California Department of Transportation has cautioned drivers of the Hasley Canyon Road southbound on-ramp closure in Castaic, which will remain closed for a few months.

“It is now closed and will remain closed continuously for approximately two months,” said Michael Comeaux, public information officer for Caltrans.
The closure is part of Caltrans’ two-year, $171 million pavement rehabilitation project on the 5 Freeway in and near Santa Clarita. The project’s construction phase started in summer 2017 and is on schedule to end in summer 2019, according to Caltrans.
“The southbound I-5 on-ramp at Hasley Canyon Road is closed temporarily because crews are constructing new concrete pavement where the on ramp meets the freeway,” said Comeaux.
Recently, the southbound on-ramp at Sedona Way was closed for three months for the same reason.
During this closure, people can use the other nearby southbound on-ramp instead, according to Caltrans officials.
Also, the northbound off-ramp at Lake Hughes Road will be closed at night on a regular basis because of this construction project and will continue to be regularly closed at night through late October, according to Comeaux.
Drivers heading northbound on the I-5 are being advised to use the Parker Road northbound off-ramp instead of the Lake Hughes Road off-ramp.
