1 Dead, 3 Injured After Fatal Crash On Highway 126 In Fillmore

A fatal crash closed all traffic on Highway 126 in Fillmore Thursday, as sheriff’s officials investigate the incident.

The collision, involving a big rig, occurred at approximately 2:24 p.m. Thursday, leading to the death of one person, and injuring three others, according to the Ventura County Fire Department.

“One person was declared dead at the scene,” said Fire Captain Stan Ziegler, a spokesman for the fire department.

Two other people have serious injuries, and one has moderate injuries, Ziegler said.

Traffic is closed in both directions between Mountain View and the railroad tracks at the eastern edge of Fillmore City, according to Ventura County Sheriff’s.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area and use alternate routes such as SR-118 and US-101.

The cause of the crash is unknown under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.

Highway 126 was still closed as of 4 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
