A crash Saturday morning on the 5 Freeway killed one woman and injured three others, including an 8-year-old boy in critical condition.

At around 10 a.m., a two-vehicle collision on the Southbound I-5 near Highway 14 was reported to CHP and Los Angeles County Fire Department officials.
“All four patients (were) from the same vehicle,” Amy Bastman, LAFD spokesperson said. “Including three children and one adult female DOA.”
An 8 year-old boy was reported to be in critical condition, and the two additional children transported in fair condition, according to the LAFD.

A SigAlert was issued for the I-5 South near the Highway 14 interchange after CHP shut down the no. one and two lanes, with traffic backed up to Lyons Avenue.
The three children were transported to local hospitals, and the current status of the children is unknown at this time.
