  1. This is a deadly intersection why. Is speed invilved. Hello we all want to be safe SLOW DOWN SANTA CLARITA.

  2. Unfortunately, nothing ever changes with unsafe roadways in the SCV unless there is a death. Golden Valley and Sierra Hwy needs lower speed limits or other traffic calming measures. Hundreds of school kids cross Sierra Hwy after school at Golden Valley. Sorry to hear about this latest death.

  3. My daughter was on this bus during the crash! She has a possible concussion including a gash to her head and she is sore all over her body. She said from her vantage point the most injured passenger of the bus was a lady in a McDonald’s uniform that she witnessed hitting the ceiling of the bus. This lady we will label the most injured passenger had half her face black/blue with a notable injury to her face also. The news media is ignoring the injuries to the folks on the bus it seems.

I understand the driver of the car that was struck died at the scene. But it seems there were several more injuries than what is being reported.

  4. I was one of the front cars stopped at the intersection waiting to turn right when this happened. I witnessed the truck pulling the camper collide with the SCV Metro bus almost turning the bus on its side and the bus careening into the power pole. My car was under the power pole when the wires were snapping and popping. I put my car in reverse and backed up out of the way of the wires.
It seemed to me that the pickup pulling the camper ran the red light and caused the accident. He was going way too fast. The bus had the right of way and could not get out of the way. I don’t remember seeing the little car that was underneath the truck since I was now in a state of mental shock at witnessing this and realizing that at any time I could have been involved had I not moved out of the way thanks to the cars that let me back up and move out of the way.

  5. “One person was killed when a bus collided with several vehicles near the intersection of Sierra Highway and Golden Valley Road in Canyon Country Saturday night.”

Um, yes, a bus was “involved” in this crash, but the collision did not occur because of the bus! Who writes these tag lines?

  6. So the Sheriff has added 5 motor officers to help combat the speed and reckless driving of this city. I have seen the motor officers once in the last 2 months. The city Council asked for the public’s help in dealing with the increase in fatal accidents in Santa Clarita. Most of the public seems to be doing most of the chatting, Texting, illegal u turns, disregard for the law, speeding, etc etc. Blacked out windows to avoid being seen using cell phones is well on the increase and I believe illegal. We need to take some type of action to combat these morons called drivers who violate every traffic law on the books. Billboards and more police presence would be a good start.

  7. You may as well get used to inaccurate tag lines when a city the size of Santa Clarita has a station and newspaper that is staffed with amateurs working for minimum wage.

  8. Sierra Highway seems to be Ground Zero for bad accidents. And unfortunately, we seem to have a lot of drunks here in SCV who like to drive. I’m for harsher penalties for DUI.
