“It looks like it’s a vehicle vs motorcycle,” said California Highway Patrol Officer Eric Priessman. “Two people down on the motorcycle: a male and a female.”
The collision was reported just before 11 a.m., and a SigAlert was issued for all lanes of the southbound side of the freeway, including the bypass lane, at 11:11 a.m.
Priessman did not provide an estimated time for when the freeway would reopen. But by noon, at least two of the lanes on the southbound freeway were reopened, allowing traffic to pass through.
The extent of the motorcycle riders’ injuries was not disclosed Tuesday morning.
