At around 6:20 p.m. Sunday evening, a 2016 Subaru was traveling southbound on Chiquito Canyon Road, north of SR-126. A 2005 Mercedes-Benz was traveling westbound on SR-126, east of Chiquito Canyon Rd, according to a report filed by CHP Newhall Officer J. Nichols.

A preliminary investigation determined that the crash was the result of the Subaru making a left turn into the path of the Mercedes, according to Officer Josh Greengard, a CHP Newhall spokesman.

The front of the Mercedes collided with the left side of the Subaru, leading to at least one individual being trapped, according to officials.

“The preliminary report determined that alcohol was not a factor in the crash,” said Officer Greengard.

The four individuals were taken to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital. The collision is still under investigation, and no arrests have been made at this time, according to officials.
