The man killed in a Tuesday morning crash on the Old Road was identified by CHP officials Wednesday.

CHP officials notified the next-of-kin for 29-year-old Tim Wise that the Stevenson Ranch resident had been killed in a traffic collision with a big-rig truck while travelling along the Old Road, said Sgt. Paul Reyes.
Speed was likely a factor in the crash, CHP officials said, as preliminary reports indicate Wise was travelling at a high speed.
At approximately 6:05 a.m. Tuesday, Wise was travelling southbound on the Old Road, just south of Weldon Canyon, when he struck the front of a big-rig attempting to parallel park alongside the road.

These measures proved unsuccessful, and Wise was declared dead shortly after 6:30 a.m.
The big-rig driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

Sadly, I was the second car going south bound on The Old Road to get to and pass by the scence of the accident. It had just happened. Making it sadder yet is the fact that Mr. Wise’s vehicle had passed me where there are two lanes going south bound at a high speed just a ciuple of minutes earlier. I thought at the time his car passed me that it was in a rush to get by me before I got to the point on The Old Road where it goes to one lane. My condolences to the driver’s family. I do feel very sorry for the truck driver too. God bless him and a quick recovery.
