A motorcyclist was ejected into opposing traffic on Highway 14, after colliding with a vehicle Thursday evening, officials said.

Three lanes of Highway 14 are shut down after a motorcycle crashed into a car at approximately 6:30 p.m. Thursday near Newhall Avenue, according to the CHP.
“The person on the motorcycle was ejected from the Northbound direction of the freeway to the Southbound direction,” said Officer Alex Rubio.
The motorcyclist sustained “major” injuries, said Rubio.
Los Angeles County Fire officials responded to the crash, and transported one patient to a local hospital. The current condition of the motorcyclist is unknown at this time.
A SIG Alert was issued at 6:48 p.m. due to the closure of multiple lanes in each direction.
The cause of the collision is under investigation, according to CHP.
