One person was killed after their RV reportedly landed in the Santa Clara River Monday in a Santa Clarita crash, prompting a response from firefighters.
UPDATE (1:05 p.m.): One person has been pronounced dead as a result of the crash, according to officials on scene.
Around 11:45 a.m. Monday, first responders received reports of a traffic collision on Lost Canyon Road near Jakes Way in Canyon Country, said Sean Ferguson, spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
“A RV drove over a curb into the Santa Clara River,” Ferguson said.
A person was reported trapped in the RV and additional equipment was requested, according to Fire officials.
As of 1:05 p.m. the person was pronounced dead, according officials on scene.
