Victims Identified In Sunday Morning Traffic Collision On 14 Freeway

The two people killed in an early Sunday morning crash on the northbound 14 freeway in Canyon Country have been identified, officials said.

Johnnie Mitchell, 48, and Tiesha Deshawn Shepherd, 37, both from Lancaster, died after being ejected from their vehicle, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.

The traffic collision was reported to officials on Sunday morning around 12:30 a.m. on the northbound State Route 14 at Via Princessa.

The vehicle, a gray 2003 GMC Envoy, collided into the guardrail and overturned down the Via Princessa off-ramp, at which time the passengers were ejected onto the roadway and killed, according to CHP officials.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

  1. So sad…???? I witnessed the whole thing and send my deepest sympathy and condolences to both families. My thoughts and prayers go out for the friends and families of both victims
