The unidentified victim, described as a 28-year-old male, was approaching the intersection of Placerita Canyon Road and north Sierra Highway on his motorcycle, a Suzuki GSX, at approximately 4:50 a.m. Thursday, said Sgt. Richard Cohen with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
A car exiting the 14 Freeway at Placerita Canyon Road entered the intersection and “the motorcycle broadsided the vehicle,” said Cohen.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead on scene.
A portion of Sierra Highway was closed following the crash, however as of 9:30 a.m., the road has been reopened, Cohen said.
The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.

Thanks so much for your station on line. My prayers are with the families of all victims of this terrible accident. Getting out of this valley every am has become a real nightmare. But I am alive and praise God for that.
