The City of Santa Clarita Transit and Metro have partnered to offer a free workshop for disabled riders using mobility devises or scooters on buses. The workshop will provide information on safety securement straps and pre-marking tie-down locations for riders. The workshop will be hosted at the Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 16.
Participants will receive new safety tether straps and meet with trained experts to identify bright yellow pre-marking locations for mobility straps that will enable faster securement of a wheelchair or scooter, attach tie-down hooks to tether straps or markings, recommend proper brake settings, and offer an optional lap or shoulder belt for comfort and stability.
