Trash Hikes Minimal, City Rates Still A Bargain

khts_citymatters_scvlogoWith the 24th lowest single-family residential waste rates among 88 cities in Los Angeles County, the City of Santa Clarita in partnership with Waste Management will implement increased litter abatement services and a new diversion program to assist the community in meeting state mandated recycling requirements.

Multifamily complexes will have the option of using a 3-yard split container for both waste and recycling. The split containers allow complexes with limited space the ability to start a recycling program and encourage tenants to recycle.

Effective July 1, city residents will see a slight increase – 74 cents –  in their monthly standard charge for waste collection services. Theses changes will automatically be reflected on next month’s waste and recycling bill.

For more information on the new rate schedule, please contact Waste Management’s local Customer Service office at (661) 259-2398. To see a complete rate schedule, which will be available online on July 1, visit KeepingScvClean.com.
