Two Arrested In Auto Burglaries in Valencia

Alert citizen tips off deputies, two crooks taken into custody.

 

Two Santa Paula residents were arrested on possession of stolen property charges Sunday morning in Valencia.

An alert homeowner saw them rummaging through her car as well as a neighbor’s vehicle on Chesterfield Drive and called the sheriff’s department.
Justin Steele, 20, and Arlene Del Rio, 23, were taken into custody after deputies discovered they were holding stolen property and a search of their vehicle resulted in the recovery of at least 100 more items possibly taken from other auto thefts.

[view:node_ad=5]Lt. Tom Bryski said that detectives were sorting through items such as jewelry, iPods, cell phones and other electronic items in hopes of identifying the owners.
“There are numerous victims here,” he said.
Both Steele and Del Rio are being held on $50,000 bail at the Santa Clarita Valley station. They are scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
