The two right lanes of the 5 near the 14 interchange were shut down to handle the fire, according to CHP Officer Jacobs.

Supervising Fire Dispatcher Sanford said fire officials drew a line around the area and moped up inside the perimeters. Units that responded to the fire were then released.

Three agencies, LA County Fire, LA City Fire and the LA Forest Service, are responding to the fire. There have been no reports of other fires near the area.

The fire was near Old Road and Weldon Canyon about 100 yards from the freeway, Jacobs said. A small two-acre fire had broken out near Castaic on Templin Freeway and the I-5 northbound. The fire was near Ridge Route Road.

At 2:15 p.m., Sanford said the fire near Templin was contained and helicopters were released from the scene.

The CHP website also reports the Calgrove fire was near the Oak Tree Gun Club.
