Two Fires Burn Around Santa Clarita

On Friday afternoon – at 5:08 PM, a brush fire broke out in Lancaster. The fire burned 75 acres near W. Avenue ‘K’ at 110Th Street West was 90 percent contained as of 10:00 p.m. 150 fire fighters from Los Angeles Country Fire and the Department of Forestry were fighting this blaze.


At 6:40 p.m., a separate fire broke out off Interstate 5 just north of Templin Highway. The fire burned just under one acre along the right side of the northbound lanes. Firefighters ordered the two right lanes closed for over an hour before calling knockdown.
