Two juveniles were detained at the Santa Clarita Valley sheriff’s station after they allegedly set fire to brush in the wash near Canyon Park Boulevard and Jason Drive in Canyon Country.
According to sheriff’s Lt. Tom Bryski, the two boys, each 11 years old, were walking home from school around 5:30 p.m. when they started setting fire to the dry brush. The fire quickly spread out of control and the boys ran away. One told his father what happened and the father brought the boy back to where deputies were conducting crowd control to keep onlookers away from the fire and away from the nearby railroad tracks.
