Two burglars were caught red-handed Saturday morning as they exited a Valencia home and were surprised by deputies.
According to Sgt. Ron Price of the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station, a resident on the 25000 block of Via Heraldo called when he saw two men in a white pickup truck stop in front of a home and put on gloves before they approached the house.
The suspects moved into a side yard and broke into the sliding glass door on the side, using a screwdriver, Price said.
The house was ransacked and the two were caught bringing out stolen property to their vehicles. Additional stolen property from unrelated incidents was recovered from the truck.
Glenn Wright, 34 and Mario Ruedas, 28, both from Tujunga, were booked at the Santa Clarita Station on suspicion of felony burglary. Price said they told deputies “they came up here to steal from richer people who had nicer property.”
