The Friends of Santa Clarita Public Library will host two exciting events in February, including a bag sale and highly-anticipated Antique Appraisal Day, library officials announced Tuesday.

Both events are open to the public and include opportunities for residents to learn more about the wide variety of resources available at the Santa Clarita Public Library, according to a news release.
Antique Appraisal Day
On Sat., Feb. 7, from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. the Friends of Santa Clarita Public Library will host an Antique Appraisal Day at the Old Town Newhall Library located at 24500 Main Street, according to a news release.
“Residents can bring their family heirlooms or antique collectibles to the library to be evaluated by experienced professional appraisers,” said officials from the library. “No jewelry please.”
Costs include $5 per item appraised or $20 for five items, according to a news release. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Friends of Santa Clarita Public Library.

From Tues., Feb. 3, to Sat., Feb. 7, the Friends of Santa Clarita Public Library will host a Bag Sale event at the Valencia, Jo Anne Darcy Canyon Country and Old Town Newhall branches of the Santa Clarita Public Library during normal operating hours, according to a news release.
“For just $7, participants can fill the provided bag with any books they find for sale in the bookstore,” said officials from the library.
An exclusive Friends of Santa Clarita Public Library member pre-sale will occur from 4:30- 7:30 p.m. on Mon., Feb. 2, according to a news release. The pre-sale will allow current members first choice of the books available. Light refreshments will be served.
