Two men have been taken into custody for allegedly stealing fencing materials from a Vasquez Canyon homeowner Monday afternoon.
According to the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s station, around 1:30 p.m. the homeowner at the 30000 block of Vasquez Canyon Road witnessed two men taking fencing materials from his property and then driving away in their red pickup.
The homeowner followed the thieves in his own vehicle down Sierra Highway after calling Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies. He reportedly called in updates to the deputies until the suspects were apprehended on Bouquet Canyon Road 15 minutes later.

Since the items were believe to be worth over $400, the suspects were taken into custody on suspicion of grand theft.
Lt. Bryski from the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s station said the truck’s license plates did not match the vehicle and surmised the truck may have been “cold plated” which means the plates were taken from another vehicle.
