Rosie Rios, Treasurer of the United States and senior advisor to the Secretary of the Treasury will be interviewed live on KHTS AM 1220 Tuesday morning at 6 a.m. The interview will be conducted by financial advisor Arif Halaby of Total Money Solutions.

Rios represents the Treasury Department in the areas of community development and public engagement and will be promoting the new public education initiative Ready. Save. Grow that will help people save money, manage their resources and purchase government bonds or other marketable securities.

Components of the new program include a website and several resources for information that can best help people manage their finances and save for a new home, a child’s college education or retirement.

According to a December 2011 Gallup poll, nearly half of Americans are not happy with their financial situation and in a September 2011 Kaiser Health Tracking poll, 70 percent of Americans are concerned that they will not be able to fund a comfortable retirement.

This new program may be something that could help you or your family survive and thrive in the current treacherous financial waters. KHTS is looking for input from its listeners and website followers.
