While Uber has been active in Santa Clarita for many years now, the company only recently began delivering food to residents in Santa Clarita, Valencia, Stevenson Ranch and Newhall on Oct. 18, UberEATS Communications Manager Stephanie Sedlak said.

“We’ve had it for about a week, and we’ve had services like Grubhub and Postmates, but this is our most popular one so far,” said Haylee Fricke, assistant manager for Bowl of Heaven in Valencia. “All the people (from UberEATS) that come up to pick up bowls are super friendly, and the way the customer orders online is super convenient.”

Some of the Santa Clarita restaurants currently using this service include Bowl of Heaven, Baja Fresh, Stone Oven and Bunker Hill Bar & Grill.

“It’s a great way for us to get a little bit more sales during the week, and it seems to be working out for us and our customers,” said Fricke.

However, while some restaurants are jumping at the chance to create a delivery service through the app, other restaurants are keeping their services in-house for the time being.

For instance, Stonefire Grill does online orders using UberEATS at certain locations; however, their Santa Clarita restaurants are currently not being serviced, said an official from the restaurant’s corporate office.

“We’re not currently associated with UberEATS in Santa Clarita at the moment,” StoneFire Grill Corporate Official Justin Lopez said.

Residents can check with their favorite restaurants or download the app to find the full list of restaurants currently utilizing UberEATS services.

“We’ve partnered with top restaurants in Los Angeles to bring their menus to UberEATS,” the UberEATS company website said.

“UberEATS currently serves over 120 cities in 28 countries, and California is one of our big hot beds,” Sedlak said. “As we kind of see how it does in (Santa Clarita), we’ll look to grow further out.”

Sedlak said the company is always looking for more restaurants to join its service.
