On Monday, Jan. 7 at approximately 8:45 a.m., Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Deputies, along with the Los Angeles County Fire Department, responded to the scene of a traffic collision. A vehicle turning westbound onto Via Princessa from Oak Ridge Drive struck a pedestrian in the crosswalk. The pedestrian was crossing Via Princessa heading south from the north side of the street.

The pedestrian, a 59 year-old male, was transported to a local area hospital where he is listed in critical condition.
The driver of the vehicle was also taken to a local area hospital to provide a blood sample, although drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the collision at this time.
The incident is currently under investigation by detectives assigned to the Santa Clarita Valley Station Traffic Office. Anyone witnessing the incident is asked to contact Detective Travis Kelly at (661) 255-1121.

A pedestrian was taken to the hospital after being hit by a vehicle traveling through the intersection of Via Princessa and Oak Ridge Drive in Newhall, at 8:45 a.m.
According to Sheriff Department officials, the vehicle was traveling northbound on Oak Ridge and was making a left turn onto Via Princessa when it hit the pedestrian, a male of about 50.
The pedestrian was taken to the hospital and described by Sheriff Department officials as being in “serious condition.”
