UPDATE: Traffic Altercation Led To Shooting

UPDATED: Monday, April 6th at 1:54 p.m.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s detectives are working to figure out who was behind a car-to-car shooting that occurred in Canyon Country at 3:25 a.m. Sunday. The incident resulted in two injuries.

The shooting, which took place near Whites Canyon Road and Pleasantdale Street, reportedly stemmed from a near collision between two cars near Camp Plenty Road and Cedar Creek St.

After that, the victim’s car was allegedly followed by the other vehicle, a 1990’s white four-door sedan. After traveling through several side streets, the four individuals in the victim’s car reported that they were shot at from the suspect’s car.

Both of the back seat occupants were hit by the gunfire. One individual received a bullet wound to the back, and the other suffered a fragment wound to the head.

Sheriff’s officials say that a unit was flagged down by the victims shortly thereafter, and complete canvass of the area was conducted. The injured victims were transported to the hospital, where they are expected to recover.

No arrest were made, however, and Sheriff’s COBRA Detectives are searching for two male Hispanic suspects, believed to be in their early to mid-20’s with shaved heads.

Anyone with any information regarding this incident should immediately contact Detective Pat Oneill, (661) 799-5154, or Detective Dan Finn, (661) 799-5153, of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s COBRA Team.

This shooting occurred just hours after another gun-related incident nearby. Four men assaulted a couple in their garage and attempted to fire a gun at them, however the revolver misfired and the suspects ran away.

The two cases were not immediately believed to be linked.
