UPDATE: 1:52 p.m. Power has been restored to all but 11 customers.
Approximately 1,500 SoCal Edison customers in Sand Canyon were hit by a blackout at 8:22 Friday morning after underground equipment failed at the insection of Kenroy Avenue and Soledad Canyon Road.
According to SoCal Edison spokeswoman Anna Frutos-Sanchez, water stored in a vault likely caused the failure.
