UPDATED 3:32 P.M. WEDNESDAY: All but one lane is clear on the northbound I-5 after a mid-day brush fire forced the freeway’s closure to fight the flames that encroached on the freeway.
The freeway and nearby Old Road were used to accomodate fire equipment being used on the two-acre brush fire just south of Calgrove.
Firefighters have announced they have knockdown as of 12:34 p.m.

The fire burned light to heavy brush on the side of the freeway with winds blowing from 2 to 3 MPH south to southwest. Two crews from Angeles National Forest and an air unit from Los Angeles City Fire worked with firefighters from Los Angeles County Fire.
