A brush fire in a rural neighborhood in Acton has been restricted to 100 acres and is 75 percent contained, according to LA County Fire Inspector Matt Levesque.
Firefighters have a line around the fire and air support is on the scene. No injuries were reported.
Deputies from the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station evacuated several homes in the area. An evacuation center was set up at High Desert Middle School on Antelope Woods Road and Crown Valley Parkway.
The CHP is doing traffic control in the area of Hughes Canyon and Hubbard to keep vehicles away from the fire. Currently, only residents are being allowed through barricades on a limited basis.

Levesque said that winds in the area are blowing at about 10 mph. He confirmed that one outbuilding and one vehicle had burned, and that a number of structures were threatened.
“The biggest challenge is that units are leapfrogging to protect the houses on rural ranch lots, where there’s a lot of brush between them,” Levesque said.
The fire was reported shortly after 11 a.m. near the intersection of Escondido Canyon and Hubbard Road.
